Post 50 is it better to switch to DW weapons (even if you don't have the epic yet)? Currently using a woodsman staff and weaving in a swarmcaller for the slow proc which is working great, but I have been seeing more and more rangers 50+ DW even when they don't have an epic.

If one were to go the DW route, what are some weapons you would suggest in the 2-4k price range?

You switch to DW 50+ because of damage bonus.

Most of the velium weapons from DN are pretty nice. Many are above the 0.5 ratio and are under 4k. Theres also that sword from velk thats pretty good for off hand.

(Or, be cheap and just try to go to PoF a ton and get some free weaps)

Awesome - I'll have to work on getting some good one handers. Always wanted to walk around with a wurmslayer :-) although I am sure some other options are better and maybe even cheaper haha.

Also, a good reason to switch to DW in the 50s is the Swiftwind isn't soo hard to do, and it gives a decent ratio offhand, haste and attack boost!

epics seemed a bit out of reach for me if I didn't save up the ~40k and buy them. Define "not so hard to do" haha. Looking at the wiki and following the check list it shows you both weapons at the same time, not sure if the stuff just for swift wind is much easier than earth caller, but I think either way I would need to drop several K to finish these. I have started them but.... the light at the end of the tunnel is pretty dim.

Lupine dagger is excellent. Frostbringer is one of the best weapons for the price, but has very high aggro potential.

Hmmm lupine dagger does look nice, I was a bad ranger and raised everything except piercing.... so, may need to figure that out.... does the proc work indoors? Any risk of instantly becoming KOS to nearby mobs due to wolf form? I can totally see that happening to me....

Leaning towards wurmslayer and frostbringer until I can get epics hahaha.....haha...ha.....
