Swim Skill
 

I haven't gained a single point of swim skill since the most recent patch. Considering I've been swimming around Lake Rathetear the past 2 days, you'd think my skill would move higher than 31.

Edit: Cause It may be pertinent. My char level has been between 19-21 while doing this, so my swim should be no where near capped.

I also noticed that when I swam across lake rathe (with 3 skill) that I didn't get a single skill up, I thought I just got really unlucky. Has anyone gotten a skill up anywhere with Swimming since the patch?

Actually yes I have. I noticed that I only get it while constantly strafing instead of just swimming forward.

I seemed to get skillups more often while turning. I was practicing swimming in circles in lower guk on a lvl 19 wizard. I don't remember if it's possible to get more than 100 swimming at that level.

Insofar as I recall (read as "I have no fucking idea but i'll chime in anyways") swimming was limited to 5 pts a lvl so your max should be 95 no?

I too have crossed Lake Rathe and had no swimming skill-ups. This occurred for two mid level characters with swimming skills near the 50s I believe.

Here is one for you that has to do with swimming, running across the ice in Everfrost grants skill up's. I picked up 6 points in less then 1 min doing it 4 days ago.

yeah that's where I'm getting it too.

I cannot for the life of me get a swim skill up anywhere. Can't get it spinning, strafing, sitting in the water. Haven't tried running across ice, but you shouldn't be getting skillups for that anyways.

it's really annoying, especially if you fall off the boat in OoT and have to go uber slow with no hope of speeding up due to skill gains.

You don't get skillups while swimming in a straight line. If you're just out for skillups, swim in circles.
