Enchanter Rune line

Does not prevent interrupts, which it should.

I'm not 100% certain of this. I'm pretty sure on live I could still be effected by stuns even if they didn't cause damage.

But I don't want to necessarily disagree with you either since I can't recall.
Anyone else?

Even with rune you got interrupted. I remember that sucking dick and making no sense.

Malrubius 02-12-2010 04:57 PM

My recollection is that actual stuns (i.e. from a spell or a weapon proc or a bash/stun via melee) would interrupt you through a Rune.

But plain old melee (slash, stab, crush, punch) couldn't interrupt through a Rune.

If you got interrupted with Rune on, then you should check the log to see what the attack was that did it. If it was just plain old melee, then that might indeed be a bug.

Hopefully others know what it was in classic with more certainty than I.

Bumping this because it's annoying

Seeing as this is probably the most apt place to post this, am I right in thinking that rune in classic also took damage off incoming spells? I've found my runes not doing this. Example : I'd get nuked with rune on and i'd take full damage and my rune would remain.

If someone wants to confirm / deny this ...

-Yes, Rune should absorb magic/dis/poi/fire/cold dmg.

-No, Rune does not absorb stuns or interupts from magic.
* I think it should absorb stuns from bashes, but not sure*

-Rune doesn't block poisons/diseases/DoTs. But it absorbs the dmg dealt, untill the rune's dmg buffer is used. then the rune disipates.

Thats how i remember the functions. feel free to comment on it

I don't remember it stopping the dot damage, just direct damage and melee.

As things stand there'll be some wizards QQing with their manastones when kunark comes out :p

I would very much like rune to absorb spell damage, getting nuked for 800 isn't fun :p

I am not saying it was this way in classic, but Rune sure did absorb DoT's on live. And it also did absorb DD's. But again, I'm not at all sure it was this way in Classic. Might very well have went live later, and maybe even nerfed away again.

I remember PL'ing people in N. Ro with Rune and feedback, using alot of jaspers, and the rune ate the poison from spiders

Runes absorbed all kinds of damage. I remember enchanters casting rune IV on a tank for one of the first Venril Sathir kills on my server. Venril used melee and spell damage.
