Hmm... You wouldn't be using my custom sound font would you? I just heard this today too. I think one of those drum collections I fixed really was never intended to be heard...

nope, and i tried it on Windows 7 64bit, and Windows XP, 3 different installs (2 on win7 and 1 on winxp) all have same thing.

really strange.. it king of sounds like maybe each area has its own music but then in that spot the areas overlap so multiple tracks play at the same time?

hmmmmm. Well I found where the problem was, at least on my custom sound font. It seems that drums channel 56 is assigned to "SFX" on nearly all the sound fonts I used to make my custom one. The "SFX" instrument is just a bunch of sound effects assigned to common drum keys. I replaced channel 56 to a studio drum kit and it sounds great now for me. It has wood sticks hitting and a chime every once in a while (for the west freeport song you had in your video).

If you arn't using my custom soundfont, I'm not sure what could be your problem...

I'm about to update my sound font with the fix... in case you want it.

To hear what it sounds like now, go here and play "Village". In-game there is no reverb effects.
