Trouble with Bonds of Force? Out of Range?

Is anyone else having trouble with Bonds of Force while floating with Lev? I often am "out of range" when trying to use Bonds of Force and I'm nearly on top of the mob. I've been root-nuking down Hill Giants in Rathe Mountains and I've had this issue at many different ranges, all within range for a root (which seems to work just fine).

how high are you floating?

PC's are subject to a vertical axis for range when casting spells.

Maybe just above the HG head? Not particularly high.

I was wondering about the Z-Axis affecting range. I don't seem to notice that when casting root.

I've been nearly on top of the HGs (like eye level, and almost in melee range) and gotten the out of range message.

I had this happen in OT a lot. Not been floating very high. Still getting out of range quite often on snare.

Perhaps Z is on a different scale to x/y?

Or maybe client z axis position issues caused by being in the air.

I've noticed that if you LD or /q in the air you can some times log in waaay higher than where you were previously, especially if you LD below geometry.

Here's a cropped screenshot of the behavior. The distance is not very far.

Bonds of Force is a pretty short ranged spell. It's hard to tell how far away you are from that screen shot, but it looks to me that you are out of range.

If you imagine the models as being mounted on a base, remember ranges are drawn from the centre of the base to centre of the base, so just because you are close to the head of a large model your feet/base won't necessarily be close enough to the feet/base of the other model to be in range to cast a spell.

Sometimes when quadding in sloped areas I will have similar issues. Distance seems glitchy due to Z axis. I cannot verify that with actual numbers or facts though. :)

Slopes also seem to be a factor. I was slightly up a hill in that screenshot.
