Can anyone recommend some free video editing software?
 

I know I could "find" a "free" version of Sony Vegas but wondered if there's anything good out there that does the basics like trimming clips, adding music/effects and doing fade ins/outs?

windows media player, virtualdub, wondershare filmora, wax, Avidemux, DaVinci Resolve, VideoPad Video Editor, there are lots. I've used a few of these and they are decent, depends on what you are use to using.
