Canni doesn't give full mana

VERY often when I canni (using canni II, but this happened during canni I too) I do not receive the full mana when I canni. Most of the time I get 9 mana initially (or about that) and then the rest after 2-3 seconds. However, today I had to relog because I was only getting the 9 initial mana, and no extra mana. 9 mana for 67 hp absolutely ruins a solo shaman......... I don't know what this is but it absolutely needs fixed

The "and then the rest after 2-3 seconds" bit makes this sound like the issue of server ticks vs. client ticks. As I understand it, every 6 seconds is a tick, and the server decides when that six seconds is up. The thing is though, because back in '99 relying on the server all the time wouldn't have worked (because internet connections sucked), the client tries to guess its own timing for the tick.

However, the two can get out of sync, and for some reason that happens way more here than it ever did on live (not sure if that's a bug or some side effect of faster internet connections). When it does it can be a little confusing, because the client will try to show you one thing, then it will get corrected by the server and show you another. This adds an extra element of "fun" to Cann-dancing, as you have to make sure you don't stand up until the "second tick" has passed.

As for "I was only getting the 9 initial mana, and no extra mana," if you weren't Cann-dancing and this happened then it does sound like a bug ... although if you restarted and it went away (and thus there's no way to reproduce it) I'm not sure the dev team will be able to do much about it.

I noticed this server/client tick discrepancy a lot when quadding. I'd try to max mana regen by sitting every tick, and most of the time I'd nail it only to see my mana drop by half of what I gained a second or two later. Whether it was giving me full returns in the end and just displaying wonkily, I couldn't say. It sure was annoying.

I don't play a shaman, though, so I can't comment on its performance.

OP is correct. It is not a question of being out of synch, very often you get too little Mana and it never catches up with extra ticks subsequently.

I made a bug post about this a while back with canni 1 and with canni 3 now, I have the same issue.

this just started happening again

I'm getting 13 mana for a canni II, THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED

mdogornone 06-01-2017 05:48 PM

i'm in KC, it's not a sync issue

Canni II is taking 67 mana to cast, and is giving me 13 mana. After a cast i can wait for a full minute if i want, there is no mana given later. I only get 13 mana. at the tick i get my regular tick of mana, no addition.

okay I've found a way to make this bug happen

If you stand from a seated position, then QUICKLY hit canni II, you only get 13m (at least that's what is happening to me right now), if i stand, wait at least 1 second, THEN canni, i get the full 30m
