Soloing in Velks at 55 as Shaman
 

Is it worth it exp-wise compared to, say, CoM/HS?

Also, is it possible to solo stuff like the named spiders? Gear is decent, have epic. Thanks :)

If you are good anything is possible. Exp wise Velks falls short around 53 54. It's only good downstairs in LD and beyond.

speaking from experience shaman soloing in velks for EXP is not good. The mobs have a lot of hit points. You should be in Sol B doing LDC or Freeti trash. About half as many hitpoints.

Duoing with a strong melee in velks however is another story. I think that is some of the best exp, if you don't wanna do sol b, that you can get. You and a melee should be able to clear the entire bottom floor. I think I hit 60 in velks duoing with a paladin. You might be thinking paladin ew wtf.. However hear me out, they can calm pull single targets. Which helps with mana efficiency.

I've also duoed with enchanter, mage, necro or bard (other than melee) and had good success in velks. One thing that's nice about velks is you're less likely to get a scrub melee/tank to duo with. Most people know it's a tough zone or they die learning. In zones like Sol B you get a lot of idiots flocking there because they read a post like this and think the exp is at their finger tips. Low and behold you have to work for exp at later levels.

TL : DR - Am I killing fast enough? If yes, good! If no, find somewhere else.
