New shaman gear question

As an extremely casual player who is also an unrepentant altoholic I always find myself wanting to try new classes but unable to even keep them in spell money much less gear.My latest being a shaman a friend was telling me about an armor set that drops in Karnors Castle called Jarsath that he claims rots on a regular basis. My question is would it be worth it to just travel there and hang out hoping for some unwanted gear to drop?

Nope. Most of those drops are towards the back or bottom of the castle and would be very hard if not impossible to get to. Your only hope would be if you could convince ppl to escort you to the loot.

Join a group and you can play naked. Even if you scraped enough money together for banded, that would be enough until you got to 50+.

This, except you can solo also if you want. Only four items really make a difference to a leveling Shaman: epic (mana-less DoT), JBB (mana-less DD), ikky BP or fungi tunic (regeneration), and a mage focus item (reclaim energy). Everything else just amounts to "have a little more HP/mana, which doesn't reduce downtime at all" or "take a little less damage and have a tiny bit less downtime ... if you're even taking meaningful damage (ie. you're not root/rotting)".

Take a look at my Magelo (linked below): I'm 59 and I'm still wearing a Lumberjack's cap, a totemic cloak, and ringmail(!) pants and shoulders! But I had no problem getting to 59 with that gear, and I won't worry about replacing it until after I get Torpor, because even 25 more AC or 50 more HP/mana really won't make a noticeable difference.
