pillars of eternity on sale for the next 30 mins

as the title says, its on sale for 18 bucks. if you like the baulders gate genre, this is a lot like it. 50% off for the next 30 mins on steam!

I bought this when it came out. I made it about 20 hours in and for some reason stopped playing...Its OK, not great...I think the problem may have been it made me realize I like action RPGs more than Baulders gate style (Having to constantly camp to recharge abilities, stop time gimmick, monster who can 1 shot your entire group, awkward healing, awkward attacking, awkward movement)

Great game if you're into old-school CRPGs like Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale. I put about 120 hours into it.

can confirm. pretty decent game.

certainly not the best in the genre, but it's a good time waster

i refuse to support it on the basis that this studio should be working on the next Vampire Bloodlines game.

I went out of my way to shun this offering by them.

This happened to my friend too. Same pattern, went balls out hardcore, had fun with the gimmicks and CRPG then washed out without finishing it.

He was immersed for a time, but was disappointed that owning a city wasn't that dynamic. He wanted to run a Civ 5 little economy and get attacked by barbarians, defend it with NPC soldiers, and stuff and get rewards for maintaining the city etc. Instead all you get is messages that Barbarians attacked it, no actual combat happens. But I guess thats CRPG style..still, you dont get any rewards from ownership maintaining or upgrading.

The ownership thing was a lil lightweight...
