Snow Griffin Egg Drops

Hi, I've been hunting Snow Griffins for around 10 hours so far, and have killed about a dozen of them without a single egg drop. Is the drop rate broken? Also snow griffins themselves spawn at an incredibly slow rate. I've only seen three at any given time in EW.

Elder ones should drop it more often.

I have killed them, too. Still no eggs.
