Error downloading patching files.
 

Salutations! First time poster and I do hope that I can avoid leaving a bad impression.

I have installed my copy of EverQuest : Titanium and followed the instructions provided by this lovely site to the strictest interpretation of the letter. However when I attempt to run EverQuest , it begins to patch and about half-way through I receive the following message.

Error : Could not download to file.

Please rerun EverQuest.exe and try again.

Admittedly , I am confused by the need to patch in the first place. (As the instructions made it clear to me that there would be no patching involved)

Any and all insight to the matter would be great appreciated!

You're not supposed to run the patcher. Uninstall, reinstall and <follow> the instructions!

You're supposed to edit the EQHost.txt file and then make a shortcut to the EQgame.exe. That way you do not run the patcher and log on to the right servers.

Doh! Yeah I knew something felt off. . I could have sworn that I did as instructed. Apparently I need to pay more attention when I read. I'm already reinstalling. I'll be sure to 'measure twice , cut once' . . so to speak.
