Revisiting server changes.

I know there were some changes on the server that aren't classic but done as a sort of stopgap or balance measure in light of inconclusive evidence about something being classic or not.

Examples would be the aoe limit and required level on epics.

Would devs and server admins ever consider replacing or removing these restrictions in light of new evidence?

Just wanting to know if spending time researching or contacting the original dev team for comments is a futile effort.

Thanks!

You can still do the quest at level 1, but you can't equip them until 46 or whatever, right? In case you wanted to link your useless (for now) dagger?

I'm confused. A level five can wear armor designed for high level players without penalties and get all the bonuses from it?

duck/cancel is still the biggest crime on blue...it might have been just about added in on the Velious patch timeline but certainly isn't classic for Vanilla/Kunark/half of Velious at least.

Funnily Daldaen and others chose not to push that one in the bug forum, but RIP things like Levant (necro self evac) during daylight hours.

I understand and agree... to an extent. While the chardok aoe plague was real, and very detrimental. I disagree on nerfing all aoe, for everybody. In all honesty it was just a handful of this servers bards that were monopolizing zones. And you were allowed to pull mobs from there train and/or petition them if they are really being asses. So why not just outlaw aoe groups in chardok and leave the rest as it was? Was this idea tossed around? Personally I think it would have worked.

Were you ever on the receiving end of a bard failed kite where he decided to zone into KC?

Where do you think the mobs went from there? Right into anyone XPing on the walls outside.

I'm glad bards were stopped, they were a menace.

Ya, I have been. But wizards that gate out of kites because they get an add or run lom have killed plenty of people too. And a smart bard would kite at the BW zone line, not KC. And if a bard is repeatedly causing deaths because they don't know what they are doing, talk to them, explain what's going on. But why should every class aoe get nerfed because some of the bards were assholes. They are still assholes, just now on a dif char. The aoe nerf did nothing to help that.

Also, if I get killed at KC with 25 mobs in my kite, plenty of people will get agro trained, still. So I know that was not a factor in there decision, but rather zone monopolization was most likely the major influencer. It has been against the rules to monopolize a zone for long before the aoe nerf went in. So imo, we need less rules and changes and more rule enforcement so as to not need the changes.
