Question about the Iksar Hide Mask

Regarding the "Iksar Hide Mask", it's BRD/ROG equip only but can someone like a human monk keep it in his backpack and use it?

There was a bug back in the day where you could use it from inventory no matter the class.

It also doesn't give you innate regen, if that's what the OP was getting at.
