Questions Regarding (Enchanter) Spell Research
 

Dinged 20 and the dark reality of spell-research finally dawned on me. 1 or 2 spells from 16 were out of reach... and now even more will start popping up.

Little lost on whats the best way to tackle obtaining these beauties

Am I better of saving skill points and feeding these into research? Doing practice ones to level it up?

If you squat in Tunnels generally someone will be in there selling Researched Spells, that is one way to do it.

The other is to go out and hunt for pages. They drop all over so really its a crap shoot.

Farm plat by leveling off targets that drop sellables and buy the spells in EC. That's the easy way, and the advantage of an established economy with a lot of necro toons.

Or save research components and advertise for words you need periodically while you're leveling. The words will drop from mobs around the level of the spell in question. Trade enc/wiz/mag components to each class for words. That's the old fashioned way.

Check city vendors for pages you need, players sell research pages frequently.

If your research skill is low, just ask a higher level chanter if they can combine the pages for spells and most will do it for a meager tip.

Should you want to do the researching yourself, just save any and all research materials relevant to your class while leveling. Do combines, sell the duplicates in the tunnel.

Should you want to do the researching yourself without grinding research points, train it at your guild.

Should you choose either of the above two options, the highest percentage chance of finding the mats you need on vendors is to check vendors closest to the zones containing mobs of appropriate level range for the spells you're trying to research - I believe OP made mention of doing that homework already.

Should you just want your spells and don't really give a shit about research, nearly everything is for sale in EC. You can also post in the EC section of this board for WTB's, but you'll typically find these spells on a hit-or-miss basis in the tunnel.

yea spend a day trying to buy the spells, it shouldnt take more than a few hours to get everything you need that is researchable.. the research spells are fantastic and game changing so its worth taking a break from leveling to make sure you have all the important ones.

Like others have said, just buy them in tuns I got all I needed. Don't pay more than 100-200p each also for the higher level ones. Saw some guy auctioning reoccurring amnesia for 3k, lol wtf?
