Private Dark Ages of Camelot server goes live in less than a month!
 

I have grown up playing EQ and Dark Ages of Camelot and ever since I have discovered the p99 server I have been super grateful and appreciative of those who shared it with me.

So as a way to pass it on I not only tell all my old EQ friends about p99 but am also telling you fellow p99'ers about the Uthgard.org DAoC Classic Private server.

The expansions only go as far as Shrouded Isles.

I discovered this server about 6 months ago and they have been doing open beta tests for bug fixes and etc.

They have announced an official release on Jan 08 of 2017 so its within a month!

If this information helped you I'd appreciate if ya let me know as well as what realm/toon you plan on making?

To give you an idea of the population (right now its dead because of wipe/official release soon) When they first did open-beta there was around 2,200 players on during peak time with an average of around 1,700 id say. Loads of people running and grouping within all levels. Although people favored Midgard a bit more so than the other 2 realms. It did not seem to tip the scales in 1 way or the other though! Can't wait!

i would like to play a dwarf paladin as I hear they are great for pvp on red 99 - is this the case for Dark Age of Cammulat?

Albion actually has a Paladin class but there isn't really a close copy of the EQ paladin in DAoC as in EQ the paladin is essentially a warrior with cleric heals/buffs. The paladin in EQ is similar to that of the bard and has chants that you can cycle that give various benefits for the group. While being the main tank of course. (Paladins are also 1 of two classes in all of the realms that are allowed plate armor).

The closest thing to a Paladin from EQ in my opinion would be a Warden of the Hibernian realm. (A melee fighter that gets buffs and some heals) Albeit not as tanky as the tank classes of hibernia but definitely a viable hybrid.

Mind if I ask as to why you didn't enjoy DAoC? Most people know it and love it or don't know it. I haven't met too many people that flat out didn't like the game.
