Skyfire population
 

As I recall from spending a lot of time during kunark kiting near the BW zone, the mobs in the area near tended to be the lower ones. bottomless gnawers and feasters, wyverns, wurms, chromodracs and Skyash drakes. You'd have the occasional mature in there or maybe a bottomless devourer but for the most part this is what you'd see there. As you moved north in the zone and further out the mobs would be more difficult being more of the mature wyvern,wurms skycinder drakes, skyfire drakes.. etc.

Right now it seems like it's just random throughout the zone. There's a lot of the big guys wandering in the BW zone area.

Anyone else recall this?

After further reflection it may just be that the low guys are getting killed off first and even though it may be rarer for higher levels to spawn there that eventually the randomness of it just causes the area to be full of higher stuff that doesn't get killed by solo people.

It isn't random throughout the zone.
