I suggest an ogre named Kevin James for the role of Santa Claus

I rather see one of the guides script an event, and create the actual Grinch as part of the event. Of course due to copyright reasons, it would probably have to be The Greench, not "Grinch" but still!
They could just use a goblin as The Greench, maybe add a X-mas hat? For Santa Claus (we could call him Perma Claus) they could dress an ogre up in X-mas clothing, and give him a beard, or maybe just go with a barbarian they already sport the proper look!
Possible scenario could be to simply stop The Greench from killing Perma Claus while he is delivering his goods across Norrath. It could be one of those escort kind of deals, where Santa is moving from one part of Norrath to the other, and The Greench with minions is attacking him.
The players would have to kill the Greench and his minions, The Greench actually requiring a raid at the end of it. The minions could be much weaker mobs that have a chance to drop random rare items or just novelty items while The Greench in the end would require a raid. Of course The Greench would drop some nice stuff!
Depending how long Perma Claus lived, and if he made it to his final destination, those who took part in the event would get rewards based on Perma Claus's survival.
They could run the event a few times through the holiday, seeing it's not complicated and to try to accomodate people with families so everyone got a chance to take part in the event. It would be relaitvely short, and fun this way.
Anyway that's my idea for the event. :p
