Anyone know of a good CAD program?
I am looking for a CAD program that I could use to build blueprint buildings and design cabinets etc. Please post any info, would greatly appreciate it!

ummm prolly that google program, er sketch-up? I haven't used it in years, but I hear it's come a long way. Free or cheap or whatever. Free version, not sure the limitations. Pretty sure it has a full trial for 15 or 30 days or something. Otherwise, if you are spending money, auto-desk, it's what I've used at work, but on the company dime, it's expensive. That and bobcat which I don't think is around any longer. Otherwise search sourceforge if you want full function free, I think there were a number of good ones there.
Other alternative is grab a paper, pencil, couple rulers (one extra long), a board, a string (optional), a square (triangle ruler thing) and have at it. Put together a makeshift drafting table. I'm sure there are some quick drafting tutorials on youtube, I took a few semesters of it in HS a long time ago, it's not hard. Just understanding to project the angles to build side views and all that, just takes a little basic understanding. |
Auto Desk still bilking companies?

Free? Sketch Up
Paid? AutoCAD , VectorWorks Hire an architect learning this software is a skill. You will spend less time and money on one versus drafting something up. 12 years in the industry. |
PM Me. I will draw whatever you need. I have AutoCAD/SketchUp/Rhino/Revit. I can give you a 3d drawing if you want as well.

Sold pirated and cracked copies of CAD on ebay all throughout college in 2004-2008.
PayPal was in its infancy and guys like me and my roommate contributed greatly to the PayPal you see today.. We completely fucked them up for life. |
I wrote a few DLLs that automated blueprint drawings in autocad once.
