Game Won't Load Past Server Select #3
 

I have posted a couple of posts prior to this one without having any luck and last night one of my friends sat down with me and helped me work on this problem again (Yea I still want to come play P99 and leave Live EQ) I can't help is, I miss this place. Guys you would have no idea how GRATEFUL I would be to come back to P99, I really hope someone can take time and find this fix.

So myself and a friend restarted trouble shooting this once again. Here are some things changed from the last two times. I will post links to my stream last night with viewing points for each thing. I was trouble shooting some frame drops issues I had last night (on a back up channel) and she popped into chat and helped me a little.

Few things .........
- I relocated my P99 to the downloads folder due to people saying it needed to be in a independent folder somewhere away from program files.
- This PC is 100% new and custom built. The specs are down below my stream in the info section in the right side column.

I was playing Hearthstone at the start some ignore all that and just go to the points in the video I list here to see each part that's needed to be seen.

- 00:55:14 shows how I log in and it crashes at server log in and puts me back to the log in screen.

- 01:49:30 I am able to log into the PEQ server, but watch what happens and how the character is all jittery. Now I could go to character select here and even on a couple other low end servers with the same results. P99 Red/Blue would not log in at all.

There is other stuff in the video and you can watch it as you see fit, but guys I REALLY wanna return to P99, I am so sick of Live EQ and I canceled all 3 of my accounts this morning regardless of if I get back into P99.

I wanted to add ........... EQ Live works 100% perfectly fine. This PC will also play any game out on ultra settings perfectly ............. with the exception of P99 of course (go figure eh?)

Is your processor overclocked? I had the same issue until I undid my overclock, no issues since.

I'm at work currently, but I'll take a look through everything and see if anything jumps out at me when I get home. I built this rig about 9 months ago, and as I said had issues at first, course mine is an AMD build.

What I've read it leads me to believe it is possibly processor or memory related. I know the old Titanium client is very finicky when it comes to higher speed processors and RAM.

Well, the one thing from last night's teching was when I logged into any other server than the 2 P99 servers it would get to character selection and the character would be all jittery acting, like the movement of standing there was a million times faster, that is link in the OP up there, but both P99 servers would not log in past server select, it would start the process then kick me to log-in so I am kinda disagreeing with you on that because if that was the case I would never have made it to character select on other servers right?

I will say the ones I get to character select would not let me click any buttons, none would respect to me so to leave the server I had to ctrl-alt-delete out.



two key points in the stream are (kicked to server login) 00:55:14 and the other servers character sleect acting like they were on crack rocks and nothing working is at 01:49:30

Have you tried limiting EQ to a single core?

yes we did, (thats in the video as well) ;)

The launcher and the game are two different beasts in itself.

Reading thru the second attempt your being capped at 720.

Set your native resolution to 720
Next search for all eqclient.ini and delete them all
Next in your EQ folder there is a EQutility file that can adjust settings. IF you can't find that then you can go thru options in the launcher.

Make sure that all the settings are correct reso wise.

Next when you get to the server select screen alt ent and turn it into Windows mode.

Exit completely out and restart the machine.

Repeat the steps and see if everything stuck. The launcher should load in Windows mode from the start. If this doesn't happen then you need to adjust compatibility settings for the game file and the launcher.bat then need to make sure your eqclient.ini isn't set to read only. This will not allow any saving and could be what has been getting you from the start ( theory)

Once you hit server select and the game forces you back to Windows mode it should be set to 720. The idea is to have everything preset so the game doesn't force Windows to change resolution EQ doesn't like this and will give you errors.

Upon this you should get the classic loading screen. Wait for character select and then you can drop down to window mode again. If your screen stays black for more than 1 min try to alt enter.
(As a side note certain websites will halt/freeze the game. Idk if it has something to do with flash or ads or pop up blocker but I have a specific website that I know will stop EQ after browsing and you have to alt ent to un freeze it.) Make sure browser is closed and any other programs

Select your toon and once more you might get reso change from window to full screen but once you are in game you can start adjusting things from ALT O tab 2
