Iksar AC bonus consensus?
 

Hi,

I am considering to reroll my 39 iksar monk as human. Reason? Fashionquest + exp penalty of iksar is boring (also, I regret my spending of the 20 starting skill points).

Only thing holding me back at the moment is the alleged Iksar AC bonus. Have anyone parsed this properly or can give some insight into how big (if any) the effect of this bonus is?

In before comments about regen and min/maxing: Yes, I know.

As a Monk, I'd argue the benefit from Iksar isn't as much about the AC boost as it is about the extra regen. When FD'ed, it makes a huge difference. The AC is just the icing on the scales.

As far as fashionquest goes, I think both races look horrible in traditional monk gear. It's only in Velious with the advent of the "leather" gear that they start to look awesome.

In the end, do what you like for race - you're the one looking at your character 24/7, so you want to make sure you enjoy it. Humans do get the added benefit of levelling slightly faster, as well as a much easier faction for quests (particularly epic quest).

Bonus is like 20ac at level 60. Lizards are disgusting and for sheep.

The monk is a fungi twink and is not intended to ever reach 55+. In between fungi and combat BWing (to 70% eventually) the regen difference won't be all that. Adding this to the equation the iksar regen actually is negligible.

This is why I'm specifically interested in hearing how big the AC bonus is. If the AC bonus is big this would be a potential deal breaker because if I wanna get beat up I'll play my ranger. ;)

Is this really the difference? Is this the displayed AC difference or the actual difference?

Heard some rumors that the AC bonus is "hidden".

AC bonus is about 35 - 45 at 60.

Human monk is playing monk on hard mode. Iksar is for bitches.

Unless you play on red, keep your iksar in that scenario.
