49/53/56/59 Necro pet lifetap animation

Does anyone else remember the lifetap animation looking like fear/ST animation, with the skulls? I recall the 44 pet having the traditional big green/yellow orb, but the 49+ pets had the skulls.

Before I research this, I just want to make sure I'm not crazy.

What an incredibly productive post. I'm going to go back through your history to find all of your posts and hopefully gain significant insight into how the server works.

Moving on, does anyone know if this sound accurate?

You can test this yourself by deleting your spellsnew.eff and spellsnew.edd file which will partially restore classic animations. Then observe what you see and hear when the spell is cast.

If based on that testing I can confirm that my hypothesis is correct, It sounds like this is a change that would be made from modifying the spells file?

If it has its own unique spell id and the animation needs changed, we could change it

OK cool. The more I think about it the more I do believe I am correct. It was somewhat of a less complex fear animation. In fact it might have simply been the pre-level 24 Fear animation.

I will do some digging and report back what I find.

You're correct, the 44 pet had a small lifetap with the green orb animation, and the 49+ pets had the ST sound/animation.

I still gotta follow through on this.
