Coming back after LONG break.
 

So I never really got high level on this server and am feeling the EQ bug again, so figured I'd roll from scratch. Definitely want to go Shaman. How important is JBB armor? And what race to pick? I'd rather go Ogre for JBB, but if it's a nonfactor I'd go Iksar.

Any suggestions for race or general tips for Shaman?

Why not troll? JBB + Regen
Less AC(iks) and frontal stun immunity (ogre) would prolly hurt soloing though.

That's why I chose Ogre. No regeneration, but easier solo and high strength for armor.

Iksar gets Regen and AC
Ogre gets Slam, JBB, and Stun Immune.
Troll gets Slam, JBB, Regen, and Snare necklace.

Buy two AC5/HP55 rings and some banded. Then go nuts.

Don't overthink it too much. You will go nuts with anxiety over picking the "wrong" race for Shaman.

field of bone is nice to start in. I rolled two toons recently. A dhalfling druid and an Iksar. Tons of people and friendly high levels hanging out in field of bone by the iksars. One downside is needing to stay near the city to train and buy spells since we're so crazy KOS everywhere.

Barbarian looks the best ^^
