makes sense if you think about the history of australia. the majority of people sent to australia during the time of it's being a prison colony were the types of people drawn to crime. it might be my opinion, but criminals usually seem to be smarter/stronger naturally than those deemed fit to operate in society. add that to the fact that natural selection was able to flourish in these lands for centuries with little to no intervention by the law.
