Haste for New Ranger
 

Hey all,

So my first P99 toon is a ranger and I'm currently 35. Thinking that after upgrading a few lingering pieces of banded I'm probably going to look for a haste item to tide me over until Swiftwind. I'm wondering if I should go with the cheaper SCHW option or save for an FBSS? I'm not really sure why the FBSS is more expensive anyway since it lacks the stats of the SCHW, is it just an opportunity cost because there are good gloves out there and not many great belts?

P.S. Currently wielding Spined Dragon Claws (10/21) and Green Jade Broadsword (11/25). General plan is to first upgrade my armor to a reasonable level (i.e. not banded), then get some worn haste, then come back and re-examine my weapons.

If your looking between the SCHW or FBSS its kind of a toss up. I would say if you are tanking the majority of the time go for the FBSS as you can obtain Kobold Bone Gauntlets for pretty cheap which are great AC and have str and hps. If you typically are only doing DPS you could get the SCHW for the 1% extra haste and you could put a Thick Banded Belt in your waist slot. Both options will cost about the same amount but the FBSS option will likely be a little cheaper now but only slightly. If you go with the SCHW you will already have a belt item you will not have to replace and you can pick up the Kobold Bone Gauntlets or Crystal Chitin Gauntlets for fairly cheap after you complete swiftwind.

There's no good reason for fbss to cost more, it's worse. Get the cheaper gloves and wear a thick banded belt or something till you can afford an RBG or turtle belt for stats.

I'm guessing the reason it costs more is because of the monk epic going in hands slot. Since this server is overpopulated with monks it would make sense the belt would be more desired

FBSS doesn't fuck up the all-important fashionquest

+1 for SCHW, why pay more for an item with no AC and less haste? Belts vs Gauntlets are a wash on the non haste gear so you don't really lose out on anything.
