The only thing good about it was it was a sandbox. And sandbox PvP > Arena/Battlegrounds. At least IMO.
It's cool how all that overgearing had a purpose and certain items and spells were much more useful than on blue. But the actual mechanics were pretty garbage when it comes down to it.
Most of EQ PvP is basically ganking. Trying to get the most free kills and avoid ever dying yourself. Then /brag about how good you were. None of this actually means you would be shit on a level playing field but w/e. It's dumb to get your ego wrapped up in "how good you are" at games. Particularly when your pushing 30-40.
