help determining pet level

i know that white con= pet is same level and blue= at least 1 level lower. im at a point where the summoned pets are never the same level as me; how do i determine what level the pet is based on the con message like "looks dangerous" or "formidable" or "quite risky". those 3 messages appear when the pet cons blue to me but im not sure how many levels below me it is based on that. is "dangerous" 1 level below me?

The best measure of it is what the pet is doing for damage. Dangerous is definitely higher than risky

Swish speaks truth. Look for the max damage a pet will do over a small time frame. If you see a consistent number that is likely the max damage (p99 code makes things hit for max often). Compare that with previous pets. Don't be afraid to reclaim energy a few times to find that max pet. It makes a difference.

Same idea applies with necro pets. every two points of max damage per hit represents 1 pet level.

So find the level variation per summon and you can tell easy.

This is the only resource I've found for con messages. I'm not sure about it being 100% accurate but I think it gets the job done.

You didn't say what class you are, but you can also refer to http://wiki.project1999.com/Pet_Guide

When summoning a pet I look at the maximum melee damage for a pet and resummon until I find a max-hitting pet. Use 'reclaim energy' or an item with reclaim energy to get back the full mana amount.
