I fail to see how a upgraded version of root that last 3+mins is useless, especially for dungeon crawling, since root is the most used spell.

Yeah this perception baffles me. It's the best cc spell necros get in classic.

paralyzing earth is definitely not useless

Root costs less than a third of the mana (30 vs 100), has a faster cast time, and if you need root to last longer you just recast. Given my high dps, I rarely need to recast. Everyone has their own play style, but from my cost/benefit analysis it's not worth the price since I would rarely use it. Thus making it near useless, for me. :)

I'm also not currently interested in selling the Staff of Undead Legions by itself. If I was, I would have given you guys a more accurate market value. All of those gear prices are rough estimates at best. If there isn't a reasonable bid in a reasonable amount of time, I will strip the character and sell everything at fair market value, not rough estimates. Probably knocking down the starting bid of this char (near naked) to 30-35k.

Its a half second longer cast time and can last almost 4x as long. If you don't mind having to babysit a cc'd mob and recast root every 30 seconds I guess this makes sense. I think it would suck a lot if you needed to lock down multiple mobs while you kill, though.
