EQ-inspired piano concertino
Late last year Jeremy invoked a music competition that I took to be more serious than he intended, so I put aside everything in my life for a few months and sketched a 3-movement piano concerto based on Jay Barbeau's EQ themes, modeled on Antonin Dvorak's 9th Symphony.
Only the first movement was finished by the deadline, and I've since removed the entry and torn down all the tools I used to create this without much intention of returning to it. Still, I put too much work into this, and am too proud of the result, for it to be stuck in RnF or die on my hard drive regardless of Jeremy's shenanigans. So to add to the already rich community of EQ-inspired art, I hope you enjoy Clever the Iksar's Piano Concertino in C# Minor, "From the Classic World" Link |
"The piano is from the perspective of a Ranger. Both hands strongly carry the melody, while the sostenuto represent musical DoTs. There are plenty of tragic stops and starts, and occassionally the hands and strings work together to perform a little archery. Finally, like every Ranger I've ever met, at 4:20 the protagonist retreats to his cave city and modulates up."
This is the song in my head when I'm playing my ranger, or will be. Very cool. Thank you for sharing this. I enjoyed it. |
