Thinking about joining Red

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to Everquest, but I'm thinking about joining Red. The EXP bonus is very tempting, and I'd love to be able to get to know classes quicker.

The only thing that I'm a little concerned about is the player numbers. If I were to make an Enchanter or Cleric, would it still be easy to group up with other players?

My play time is pretty limited. Is there a wide range of levels on Red?

Server population is very stale. Unlikely you will run into other new players as you level up. At best you will run into the odd twink or PL group. The economy here is very bad as well, very little low level gear available unless you plan to level up a enc/mage/necro and farm it yourself.

I'd advise playing on blue for a more "real" everquest experience. I played here for over a year and had great success ans a good time but the population has dropped significantly since Feb 2015

You missed the fun part of red. Just roll on blue if you actually want to play everquest with other people.

your best bet is to join <Thunderdome> and even in TD grouping can be sketchy. You would be fine though, we've been recruiting more and it's been pretty active.

Assuming you wanna join red, there are always lots of camps available and the exp bonus is real nice. Community outside of TD sux though

I'm sorry. I didn't intend for it to be taken as a Troll thread. I've just started on P99 a few days ago, and was genuinly curious about Red. I'm quite new to Everquest, so the idea of getting to level a little quicker would be great so that I can see a class develope quicker, and see if it's something I would enjoy playing.

So far I've only gotten a level 3 Shaman on Blue.

not sure why you would want to play this game if not for nostalgia.

lots of better titles worth your time

Server is the same as it has been since 5 months after release. These dudes are just jaded because their guild just ended and they are bored of the game. The same thing has happened several times and population continues to be pretty close to where it was.

You can join Thunderdome if you want a leveling guild then stick with them or hop over to Tempest for end game raiding. There is little PvP but you will probably find a better PVE experience on Red than you will on Blue. The population is big enough to be able to raid and do stuff end game but small enough to where people will want you to play and help you with gear early on.

Cleric/Enchanter are great choices for PvE and you will be needed from level 1-60.

Not jaded, just dropping facts, sorry dude.

No need to candy coat the situation here. I had a few anon alts on the come up until a few weeks ago. Grouping situation is really bad, and the pool of active players consists of a lot of weirdos.

Red99 is great if you want to play eq mostly solo and interact with mostly degenerates
