Why cant we drop coin anymore?

Tired of deleting money on my monk pretty sure in classic monks could drop their plat on the ground and pick it up when they were done

I specifically remember this from classic this doesn't seem right

You used to be able to drop money and it would appear in the world as a little coin (and not a bag). I'm pretty sure it was changed on live as well, and definitely during the classic trio era.

Friend and I used to drop gold coins in a trail in qeynos for newbs into the guardhouse with only 1 exit. 1 of us would be invis as an ogre and block the door, was pretty funny.

They won't allow it here, I think it's actually a restriction of the titanium client as well.

Client restriction. Most likely there is no packet sent or client-side code triggered to hook onto when you click a cursor full of coins out into empty space in the Titanium client, which would make it pretty hard to force it to happen. And who knows if the client even supports the 2D coin sprites (for when they're on the ground) any more...

I thought they got rid of this due to 1) people spamming the ground trying to lag people out, 2) there was a duping exploit

Lightloch 03-22-2016 09:20 AM

On Live it was changed during the classic era. I remember it could cause tons of lag. Not to mention the potential RMT exploitation of it.

"Why cant we drop coin anymore?"

As far as I remember you never could on P99.
