Mouse-Look help
Hello All,
I'm trying to set up myself so that I can move forward by pressing both mouse buttons but it doesn't seem to allow me to set that up in the key bindings. It won't register that I'm pressing the two buttons. I would also like to set up mouse-look so I can spin around to look without changing direction of my character and that's not seeming to work either. I am using a track-ball but it works with WoW and other games so I figured it should here on P1999 too. Any thoughts or help? Thanks much! |
Try hitting F12 in game? I use a m570 no problem. Shouldn't have to change anything.

You can't spin around your character in the default view mode.
F9 is the common bind to change view modes, some of which can spin round the character, but only the default will let you use 1st person. What I use as a work around is binding Shit+T to the titles window. I then edit my titles window to be very small and transparent. This opens up my 'rear view mirror' screen, letting me see behind myself and change the view angle. When I want to revert to the default mode I can just hit Shift+T, close the window (or hit esc I think). |
I do use F9 to get to the trailing cam mode. 3rd person I presume it would be called. I really dislike 1st person. I will try other modes to see what happens.
I found the Titles window by mistake last night so I may try that if nothing else too. Any other thoughts on the mouse-move by using both buttons? |
Had to log in to test it, but when I hold my right mouse button, I have camera control and my character faces what I'm looking at. When I then press the left mouse button (with right held down), my character moves as I would expect.
Going over my settings - -- In the mouse tab, I have 'Mouse Look' enabled. -- In the Keys tab, no mouse buttons are bound to anything. -- In the keys tab, 'Toggle mouse look' is bound to F12 (see first point about making sure its enabled) -- I alternate between first and third person views by using the mouse wheel to zoom in or out. I can't see any issue with detecting both mouse buttons being pressed. I would go over the things above, and make sure you are not trying to bind the mouse buttons to anything until you get what you are looking for. You don't need to bind one of them to move forward, for example. |
Thanks all! I guess all it was was the F12 that I didn't know about. It's working now, both the mouse-look and movement.
Thanks much! |
