Enchanter Gear

Hey there, so I am looking at starting an enchanter soon and have decided to play either and Erudite or a Human. However I am not totally sure what gear I should be looking for. I have a decent amount of money to spend but just need some direction. I have gathered that CHA should be my main focus? I currently have about 70+ cha with random pieces I have grabbed/scavenged.

I will update later with exactly what I have since i believe that will be helpful!

But any advice on stats i should look for or any other insight would be appreciated!

For an enchanter the race is just a selection of base stats and a starting position. You can look like any race pretty soon.

Stat wise erudite and high elf compete for best. Erudite is best if you just add up int and charisma while high elf has better starting charisma (which is your most important stat). The starting position is not really great for erudite (although it got better with the warrens). Of course you can just travel, so its no biggie.

My advice for stats is to focus on CHA, HPs and INT in that order.

Keep rune on yourself all the time when soloing.

Don't underestimate pacify and memblur spell lines.

All starting points into CHA...

A decent amount of money is ambiguous and can mean a lot of different things to different people. How much exactly are you looking to spend?

Ice silk armor is some of the best "twinkable" droppable stuff you will find though.

As far as stat focus I have always gone HP>CHA>AC>INT/MANA with cha and hp being given pretty equal value. you want to get your cha to at least 200 and start dumping as much into hp as you can beyond this. The other stats you just add in if you can without hurting the primary ones too much.

Buying a full set of Ice Silk I think crosses the line of "decent amount" of money into "pure twink" money but it is excellent if you can pony up for it. The robe alone sells for 20k+ and I saw a cap in EC last night selling for 8k.

There are a few odd pieces out there that are great for nub Encs and don't break the bank at all. A couple I can think of is the Loam Encrusted Veil which has some CHA and 20 raw HP. Another is the Spider Fur-Lined Boots which have 5 CHA and 45 raw HP yet sells for under 500pp because nub. HP/Mana jewelery is not a bad choice for wrists either and get yourself a set of HP rings and some swappable CHA rings.

There are a lot of options but really levels will help you way more than CHA for your calms, and pure HP is king for a very long time while you're leveling.

HP > CHA > everything else

Some cheap options for equipment (each under 1k plat, some are as low as 150-300plat):

55 HP rings (Platinum Fire Wedding Ring)
Opalline Earrings
Sarnak Arcane Fetish
Siryn Hair Hood
Elliptical Veil
Rod of Insidious Glamour (Quest for yourself in the 30s, but cheap if bought)
Stein of Moggok (can quest at level ~12)
A Crude Stein (free if you find someone killing ogre guards in Feerrott)
Drake-Hide Leggings
Gatorscale Sleeves/Embroidered Black Sleeves
Embroidered Black Cape
Spider Fur-Lined Boots
Robe of the Ishva
Braided Cinch Cord
Dusty Bloodstained Gloves
Woven Grass Bracelets

If you do have some money to spend, I'd get a J-Boots MQ before any of that except maybe the 55 hp rings.

Great list here.

A few items to add:

Incandescent Mask (quest)
Mystic Cloak (quest)
Loam Amice (Shoulders)
Loam Shoes
Loam Bracers
Blackened Crystalline Robe

Don't get the jboot mq first that's bad advice, 200cha first !! you will be able to farm jboots yourself later. What you want to do is be a real enchanter who keeps a pet in group situations

all starting points into CHA or you will regret it at the end game and only makes your life easier in the mean time....

Man0warr 03-16-2016 03:46 PM

Nah, way faster exp by charm soloing than grouping. Jboots (or SoW potions) saved me a ton of deaths/travel/lost time.

Hell, the Goblin Gazughi ring may be an even better investment than Jboots.
