Error #1 on the faq guide

So I am getting the error that is the first one listed in the faq which is:

1. Help! When I try to run eq, at some point before entering the game, I get an error that looks something like this:
The instruction at 0x029110ce referenced memory at 0xfffffffc. The memory could not be read

The trouble is that the solution is to change some files in the eqclient.ini. I do not have this file, and have searched my computer for it to make sure. I reinstalled eq to make sure and it still does not exist. my game worked fine until I had to reinstall my windows. I reinstalled eq after doing this and now this issue is arising. Why the hell dont I have this file?

You will have a copy in the same folder as eqgame.exe, however it may be easier to use the Options button when running the launcher, so instead of clicking logon click the options button and go through the wizard and this should reset chunk of the settings in eqclient.ini

If that works and gets you in you should just be able to set the resolution/refresh/full screen options in-game.

If possible have another look for the eqclient.ini (May just be called eqclient if you have extensions hidden.) so you can change settings in the future via editing the file.

It might be your antivirus quarantining some files you need. Set your eq folder and subfolders as trusted then re-extract the latest patch files

Right click EQ shortcut, properties, Check the run it is 640x resolution and as Admin and in service pack 2, see if that gets you in game. Once in game you can change your resolution. And as always, run it in window mode native to your resolution.

as far as not seeing that one file, its because it probably has 2 different install areas, one being in program files and one being in C:yourname: somewhere. The trick is to never install EQ in program files, it avoids many problems.

Install EQ somewhere other then your program files folder and you will get a eqclient file that pops up in the folder.
