Epic pet question

does it innately dual wield? is it worth giving it weapons (both 1h and 2h) or should i just give it a muzzle and call it a day?

yes it dual-wields... its the EPIC pet and all mage pets after level 44 have innate dual wield... Read here. In my experience after you pet past the low levels, the only reason to give a pet a weapon is to enable dual wield (I think mage pets level 20+ can be enabled to dual wield with 2 1h weapons. This is unnecessary on pets after level 44) or to give a pet weapon procs.

Edit: I personally like http://wiki.project1999.com/Deadwood_Stave from Kaesora for pets

Yeah no need to give it weapons.

Cheap and effective pet weapon:

Nice aggro and mobs that are stunned won't hit back. And easy enough to get.

ya i saw that for the 44 pets it says duel wield, but it wasn't clear that they do after. doesn't say anything for epic pet either so just wanted to make sure..

It's formatted under the assumption that once a pet starts demonstrating an ability, all subsequent pets also possess that ability unless noted. Otherwise the "abilities" column starts looking like the crowded mess in the necromancer section.

Epic Pet max hits for 81, giving it weapons won't change this. I don't give weapons unless I am fighting casters, if so I'll summon dagger of symbols for the +MR
