Camp etiquette

What is the real rule on camps?

A little background. There was a group last night in mistmoore pond area. We pulled too much and 2 players died, the rest zone'd out for safety.

A few minutes went by, where the character that I was playing (one that died), was running back from my bind in Gfay. Once I got back there the rest of my group was already sitting back at the pond, same spot as before.

But then we noticed another player walking though our area, grabbing familiars, then gargoyles, then walking into the narrow path area to pull more familiars.

We asked this player to stop, using /say to even avoid putting it in ooc.

The player explained that we had taken too long to get back there and that he had taken over our camp. (Keep in mind this is one dude and one friend who was with him, so 2 players.)

He said something about a 7 minute rule? But to be honest, we didn't take 7 minutes in my opinion but I didn't check.

Anyway, the guy ended up fussing about it in /ooc for like an hour or 2 and it was super lame.

I'm not gonna name names unless he gets on here and starts it first.

What's the rule here?

Technically if the whole group died, or some died and the group was forced to zone; the camp is forfeit.

Dick move, but technically the guy was not wrong.

Yup.

Yeah, super lame but it's legit. I had an alt group a while back in highpass at the orc camp. Everyone in the group was encumbered so we ran to vendor at one of the inns. We get back less than 5 mins later and a 60 necro is there killing orcs. Explained we just went to vendor and he said "too bad". Nothing we could do about it.

remember their name, later in your characters eq life you'll often run into these same people when they need a group or something.

the pay back feels great

Ok, thanks for letting me know. It was strange set of circumstances because others in the zone who were listening were voicing support for us, but technically this guy was within the rules.

They would have probably been in pvp range on red, you could have retaken the camp by force rather than having to be submissive to rules that benefit a minority.

Just a thought if you'd like a bit more control of things like this in future.

The rule on camps in red server is pvp them for it. Most people log off even groups of yellow/red cons if you have the element of surprise cauze scared.

Also I thought on blue the full grp took the camp. Never seen PnP enforced on blue though. So IDK.

Yes, because when you've just started out on Red and are still wearing your rags while grouping in MM you can not only lose your camp, but also get killed several times by that Empire twink alt before finally having to leave the zone.

So goog.

Don't act like the PvP aspect is always beneficial, Swish. New players in MM tend to get their s#$t pushed in.
