Mount & Blade Warband - The Last Days Mod (LOTR nerds click here)

A couple months ago I was looking for a fresh mod for M&B Warband, as I've exhausted vanilla years ago.

To my great joy and surprise, I came across The Last Days for free in the Steam Workshop.

The Last Days puts you as a fledgling hero of good OR evil in whatever area you start (worth noting that nothing west of the Misty Mountains is in game). What would you like to play, a cheeky dwarf of Erebor? A goblin warg rider out of Moria! There's probably 20 different race/location combos... pretty awesome!

TLD is a rich world developed from the book's canon lore. While Frodo and the Fellowship are off doing their own thing, you must train and raise an army and fight!!

My first character was an elf of Lothlorien. I must admit pals, it felt goog to stand on a hillside alongside Glorfindel and my Galadhrim Royal Marksmen as we cut down the legions of orc slime charging us, our bowstrings singing in the twilight.

Currently, I'm playing as a human from Lossarnach of Gondor. Gondor gets fucked hard in this game by Mordor + Corsairs + Haradrim, so naturally this is quite a challenge. I held Cair Andros and West Pelargir for longer than I had seen in any other game... but recently Mordor and its allies took three cities from me :(

Anyway... I encourage any fan of M&B Warband to get this, or any fan of Tolkien to get this.

it's absolutely the best LOTR game i've ever played in terms of lore, design quality, and the joy of being able to explore places like Moria, Minas Tirith, and Helm's Deep.

Really hoping some fellow nerds leap on this so that we can talk about it! TLD forums are all but dead and steam community sucks for it, so if you have any questions post here and I will try to help!

I bought this but couldn't get into it. Sounds like a cool mod though.

Yeah, M&B isn't for everyone. It's sort of like a roguelike, or like EQ in that manner. You have to be a certain type of nerd to enjoy a game where 6 forest bandits wearing rags and throwing rocks can knock you off your horse, strip your body, and leave you bloody, naked, and drenched in cum a few days later

I'm a big time MBer, and like to MB furiously for hours on end. After hundreds of hours of vanilla MBing, Anno Domini 1257 was my favorite way to MB.

This looks really cool, I'll have to pair it with my annual LoTR trilogy viewing this December.
