My brother

I've been wondering for a while if I should post this here. I finally decide to do it because it's possible that some of my brother's friends play on p99 and I think they'd want to know that he's gone.

He died on June 14. He took his own life and it's been so hard to face that reality -- for me and my mother both. She played here too, her name is Hyasinth (60 cleric). I never thought something like this would happen in my family, but it has. We're only just learning the kind of stress he was under with his job, school, and family. He didn't talk about it with anyone. My brother was the type of person that swallowed his feelings and kept going.

His character on p99 was Shadius and he played here before I ever created my account. He was a busy guy irl so I don't think he played a lot here but he definitely played a lot on live.

His characters on Bristlebane were Saben (paladin) and Venner (necro I think). He was the original owner of the account, but I do believe he either sold it or gave it away when he quit. He was the one who got our mom playing EQ back in 1999. Then, a few months later, my mom got me to try it. It was a fun way to spend time with family. I lived in Spokane at the time and my family was about three hours away.

Anyway, if anyone here knew my brother, either here or on Bristlebane, I just felt that you should know that he died. The game is just a game but the people we play with often become friends irl and we care about them as such. I know I do.

RIP James (a.k.a. Shadius, Saben, and Venner).

Sorry to hear that sidelle. I'll pray for your brother.

Rest in Peace

I'm so sorry. My grandmother died recently as well (not from old age...but from something that shouldn't have happened nonetheless) so I am there with you. Both my grandmother and I suffer from depression. I'm a suicide risk myself.

It's really hard to be the ones left behind. Don't be afraid to get help for yourselves if you're having trouble accepting what happened.

RIP.

I also, am very sorry to hear for your loss.
One would think it gets easier as life goes on but it really doesn't, well imo, fwiw.

Not feeling able to talk about it is one of the saddest things, and it happens with a lot of guys :(

A good friend of my dad's (who knew all of our family) struggled for years to keep going, but he eventually decided he couldn't go on and took his own life... that was drink related along with the depression. He had plenty to live for too :(

RIP to your brother...as hard as it is, he wouldn't want you or anyone else to be angry with him about it.

My condolences.

It still feels like it just happened so I really appreciate the kind words and support.
