Corpse faction
 

Seems that dragging _any_ corpse causes being attacked.

The way it is supposed to work is the faction check of the corpse. If the corpse is not KOS, dragging it does not cause you to be attacked.

If the corpse is KOS, dragging it makes you KOS.

Dragging a corpse that was Ally to the mobs nearby generated aggro. Dragging your own corpse also generated

The only time dragging a corpse didn't generate aggro was if the mob(s) could not see you. Either because you're out of their LoS, you're Invis or you're FD.

This is currently working as intended.

The only bug with the corpse dragging code is charmed pets will aggro a corpse dragger and chase them until they catch them and get in melee range at which point they say "this PC isn't a valid target" and he will run back to his master or guard spot.

If you are not KOS and corpse is not KOS, you can drag. This is how it worked on live.

However, many didn't know this, so to cater to the dumb people, many guilds had simple policies of no one dragging.


Also, this was not implemented at launch. Originally anyone could drag. But it was nerfed to check corpse faction to make CRs more difficult. Otherwise people would just log in a non-kos to cr a raid easy mode.

I distinctly remember getting pissed off dragging one of my boxes corpses who was Ally in ToV past friendly drakes and getting aggro on another toon who was Ally.
