level 53 Mage Air pet damage bug

So I just got level 53 tonight and loaded up the new air pet. According to wiki it should always be a level 45 pet and have 2650 which seems to be right. But it also says it should always hit for 56 and it does not.

http://wiki.project1999.com/Pet_Guide

Now I understand the wiki may not be right. However it's hitting for the same damage as the level 49 pets. (ranges from 48 up to 56). From what I understand and from what the wiki says it should be a set 56 damage and the level and HP should be a set number as well (no more variance like level 49 and lower pets). Even if it was intended to have variance why is the same damage as a pet 5 levels below. Please look into.

Thanks

consider that you probably were using torch/shovel/stein/broom on your sub 50 pets, and you're now using an unfocused pet.

focused pet damage > unfocused pet damage until probably that 57 earth pet.

also I'm just assuming you're not using the staff of elemental mastery: air

I don't think Focus affects damage on P99, just health.

Also, the wiki is not managed by the devs of P99 so don't take any values as gospel or what they should be at this point of the server timeline.

To be clear. The focus items do not, at least what I know, raise the damage of any pet.

The < 50 focus items on < lvl 50 pets give the pets ~20% more health. That is the ONLY affect it does. Oh, it makes them visually larger too.

The staves of elemental master make the pet visually larger and raise the level of the pet by 1, so it's possible to have a level 49 pet with the level 57+ pet spells.

The level 53 pet does have a maximum level of 45 like it says in the wiki and a lowest level of 41. The level 49 pet spells have a maximum level of 41 and a lowest level of 37.

Hope this helps.

Yes, as a couple of you have mentioned the pre 50 focus items only make the pet larger and give more hp. The thing that seemed wrong was the Max damage that the pet hits for. Is it correct that the level 53 pet should hit for the same damage range as the level 49? (max damage of 48-56). I found it strange that I loaded up my new pet, summoned and found that he hits for the same damage as my lowest green level 49 spell pet.

So question for you other mages that have the level 54 water pet, does it hit for the same max damage range as the 49 water as well (48-56) or does it hit up to 58 as shown on the wiki?

The spreadsheet on the wiki is correct. That is what you should see for the pets you are referring to.

Nope spreadsheet is wrong for 53 air and water. Just made level 54 and tried the new water pet. Hitting for the same damage as the 49 one. 48-56. Wiki says will hit for 58. Something funny I have noticed too is the 53 air will kick for 65.

I fixed the wiki . . . I think. If it's wrong, please unfix :D

I played a magician during Classic and just a bit of Kunark.. Both the Necromancer and Magician L49 pets were disgustingly overpowered (remember how the Necromancer pet could quad for 68 at 1.0 delay with FS daggers? And the whole sword of runes bug?) Back in the day I thought I was a serious badass because I was soloing solb lava duct crawlers, hehe :D Remember, this wasn't P1999 where everyone and their brother has a cloak of flames, epic, etc. So I think in general the Vocarations are much better tuned than the Greater Conjurations.

Also, Magicians are totally legit in Kunark and Velious, although not quite as disgustingly OP as Classic. Pets got a huge power boost here when NPCs were buffed up about 6 months ago. When you combine nukes (if you want to have some fun, you can Rain the tank and if the positioning is right the pet won't eat waves), damage shields, and pets summoned with the mastery staffs you are probably the best group damage in the game outside of a charmed pet. Mala/Malosini are superb, Call of the Hero is really useful and the summoned items are nice utility. Of course your endgame consists of summoning 1000 mod rods, but let's face it: most of raiding isn't really that hard.
