Afaik, the community has never been informed about big changes to the forums and none of those changes have ever been reverted. Tags, 20 page threads, video embeds, sig size, post edits that I remember. All of those changes upset people and probably aren't ever changing.

Made the mistake of testing it after someone said they changed it. Now I'm stuck with 10 posts per page. :(
