Pick up Final Fantasy XXXIZZS2I because of the Steam Summer Sale
Put it down after a few hours when I found out there was no cash shop to make my catgirl wearing two bandaids and a cork for armor while being a pugilist

Anyone else do this? By that I mean get bored and come back etc, not trying to find games where you can be a half naked catgirl punching things to death.

Never happened, I learned early on that the GMs created Red99 to be a containment server, I knew it was crap from the start.

I used to be a ship jumper but the way WoW is these days you only have to play it for about a month or so when a new patch/expansion hits. Then you can just log on for raids from there and play P99 at the same time.

YES! Lol, I've done this at least 5-6 times since I started playing 2010. I think the only thing that can keep people like us for playing longer than 2-3 months is if they launched a new server and we all had to start over from scratch.

I came back with a few family members -- we all 60 with epic, and I thought I was done forever -- I finally worked out the EQ Classic Bug I had. We started from nothing -- met 2 other guys that started from nothing and became rich and geared....
The problem is there is no replacement for EQ. What else am I supposed to play? WoW? EQ2? ESO Online? None of those games feel like classic fantasy -- there too fast pace and there's no sense of accomplishment. I get an epic ass ache just thinking about grinding modern MMO Dungeon runs.
So I'm thinking about coming back for Velious. I'm guessing as long is this server is here I'll play it on and off.

Yeah. I probably only get bored with p99 because I play it so much when I do play it though. I tend to go back to classic RPGs and turn-based games for a break when I need one though, stuff like Baldur's Gate and Master of Orion and oldschool action-adventure Sierra games, stuff like that.

Limit yourself to 2hr play sessions with no more than 5 sessions per week, starting from scratch and you'll get enough mileage out of EQ to last the rest of your life ^^
