velious GM events
 

greetings, i come from the mac server al kabor, right before its closure, upon the 10th anniversary, there was an event in the eastern wastes of velious, the entire zone population was changed, a number of dragons upon veeshan factioned spawned near the ST zoneline, and a number of giants spawned, there were multiple nameds, PC's were meant to fight upon the side of the dragons, and many great items dropped, such as http://wiki.project1999.com/Boots_of_the_Storm , Such an event is clearly classic, it was hosted by Zatozia, And multiple zones within everquest have zone popluations of version 1 and version 2, The sleeper was awoken on al kabor, and a day or two later, the gm Hobart appeared within game, and reset the zone to population 1, which leads me to believe these events can be toggled. does anyone have any knowledge of such things?

Wasn't it rellapse and friends who woke the sleeper on eqmac?

i think i have screenshots of hobart in severwide chat confirming he reset the zone, will do my best to find them these screenshots are coming from 4 or 5 diff comps

That script was bugged on EQMac.

The mobs that were dropping the good loot (KT, Vindi, AoW loot basically) were respawning. Where they should've only spawned 2 times and been done.

So I was able to box 3 of them and get 2 AoW rings (the mobs were really easy). It was nice for my boxes but not really balanced. I remember going to work and hearing some people boxed 10-20 BoCs and AoW rings out of that day until it got fixed just before I got home.
