How Hard is the Stanos Fight?
hey pals, I'm trying to assemble friends on red to do the Stanos fight in high pass for the high elf mask.
http://wiki.project1999.com/Stanos_Herkanor Curious if anyone knows how hard it is since they changed it. Has anyone done the fight recently? Any advice would be appreciated. |
He's hard, 60 warrior + 2-3 clerics and enough dps to down him before disc drops. He has dragon regen.

Doesn't always drop a head.
Does always tank your Freeport factions (tell anyone helping about that before they turn up) Brings a lot of NPCs with him, good to kite those away/peel him off. The NPCs don't reset after the fight, they'll all clump together near the Highkeep zone area (similar to what we saw in Cabilis after one patch), and take 10ish minutes to move. << notclassic.gif ? To keep it smooth I'd say the more you bring, the merrier. |
I'd compare him to General V`ghera, but the hardest thing about the fight is probably the pull. Even harder still, convincing enough people to organize and ruin their faction so you can have what is essentially a useless vanity item.
|
How do you go about the pull?
|
Rogue with non-trashed faction (no rogue epic MQs after faction is trashed) gets Stanos to appear, then its really a matter of trial and error with the pull... I've seen someone try to kite the whole entourage around the zone and peel Stanos off, but there's other ways I'm sure.
Take a few 60 tanks. I can't remember if he was slowable. Taken did a bunch of these I think, try and speak to some of their officers maybe...they're good people, right? ;) |

Harmony everything around stanos, kill that PH/rogue GM chick, and kite Anson, you need at least a 60 tank and 2 solid clerics and enough dps to get him dead.
We got 20 heads on 30ish kills last week for our rogues/bards. It's easy if you know what you're doing. |
It's the learning process that's painful. I think Stanos is the hardest fight in Kunark without an AE, probably the hardest in game if you don't have the pull down to a science.
