malware injected into patch?
 

Just did the patch, and copy pasted into the folder. Go to run eq and Firefox is shut down replaced with crossbrowse??? Then several programs are loaded and installed.

If you got the files from some nice pirates at the bay, you might have gotten a sour apple ( wrong file ) and are SoL unless you can remove the virus and get the right file.

Think I've figured it out. Not sure what that was about, but seems everything was clean. Got it working, and am now lvling a monk.

This is why when you torrent you get the ones with comments or from trusted uploaders. Do your research first! Stay safe.

Also there are a ton of false download links on these kinds of websites that will try to install executables. Always look for the magnet icon on any of these sites in order to find the correct download link.
