Project 1999 - Rodcet Nife rangers- conspiracy?

So just where are these "many" rangers? Is it possible that they were abducted by their loving deity and transported to some new world where their tracking, foraging and pitiful healing skills were needed more? Or maybe the agents of Bertoxxulous were somehow able to eradicate all of the existing Rodcet rangers. Either way, it seems very strange that their families have never spoken out about this in public...
