Coldain prayer shawl tradeskills

Can any of the combines for the coldain prayer shawls Be done by someone else? Or do I really have to level up all the tradeskills, including jewcrafting, for each character that I want to do the shawl quests for?

From what I remember from Live, you need to level up the tradeskill yourself.

There are a ton of no drop items involved which force you to get the skill yourself. The whole point of the quest was to reward you for raising your tradeskills, so it'd be silly if someone could do it for you.

Shawl 3 (Baking) can be MQ'd.

Shawl 8 (Smithing) can be MQ'd - But this is Luclin so doesn't matter until 2020 when they add EQ's 2nd best expansion.

Shawls 4-7 you need to do the combines yourself. Pottery, JC, Fletching, Brewing and Tailoring. Most of those are easily done in an afternoon. Tailoring however, sucks. If you aren't a race with racial tailoring and you didn't exploit using non classic combines before they were removed (like wu's armor), you are at a huge disadvantage for doing Shawls. Expect to have to farm the pieces to some of those shawls 4-5 times and just trying to succeed on the combine at 150 Tailoring instead of wasting 100k's skilling up to 200+

Haha the only trade skill I have, baking, can be mq'd. Figures

But thanks for the answers

I'm curious is there any kind of chart detailing the success rate of combing the #6 Embroidered Shawl while at lower stages of tailoring skill?

Farming HQ lion pelts is beyond a joke, been at it for weeks now and have no where near enough and I rarely go EC to buy.

At 115 which I think is max tailoring without cultural now, the success rate is maybe 10%.

Once Wu's gets added in, that trivials out at 158. Which gives you a 50/50 shot at the 6th shawl. Someone will have to farm 6-7 sets of components at this skill just due to bad luck and others will get it first combine.

Just another reason why halfling druids are superior

Don't worry. You're going to have years to complete the quest.
