Couple of random questions about Velious launch
 

1. I understand that sometime shortly after Velious launches, they will be doing away with the xp penalties. Is that both racial and class? Also will the classes that currently get bonuses continue to get them, or are they going too?

2. When Velious launches do you think we will see an explosion in hybrid population?

3. Has there been any talk of a fresh server? I was just reading in an other thread about it being better to go to red because so many people are twinked and due to overcrowding at popular camps. Also people are saying the population is really booming due to the agreement with DBG.

Only the hybrid class xp penalties will go away, not racial ones.

There is going to be a progression server (Blue) launched sometime after Velious launches. They are calling in the P99 Recycle server because it will launch as a progression server running on the original timeline of Classic, Kunark and then Velious. So it will take around 3 ish years to get there I believe...then when it's done (I assume the timeline to when Luclin launched) it will be reset and start over with all the characters being copied over to the existing Blue server.

Was Discussed probably 6 months ago by the Devs. I would not HOLD your breath about anything on here, happening on ANY timeline, ever announced. :p

They have real lives, and that seems to be the reason, understandably, that NOTHING ever goes as planned. :D

It will probably happen, but when, who knows. I doubt even them.

Similar random-yet relevant question...

When will other "velious era" content be released? In no particular order...

- Warrens & stonebrunt (and will trivial loot code be in place for them?)
- Halfling and Gnome hybrids
- Newbie armor quests

I think Halfling and Gnome hybrids were a Luclin era thing. I don't think they will ever be on here??

Right. Stonebrunt and Warrens were Velious-era. They'll be added. However, newbie armor and short hybrids were Luclin-era or later and thus out of P1999's timeframe. Besides, if you remember the original stats of the newbie armor (less AC than banded!) you won't miss it much.

Note that racial experience penalties don't simply remain with Velious, they also change to become self-only. Some Trolls, Iksars, and Ogres who group a lot might find themselves leveling a little more slowly because their groups won't subsidize their penalties anymore.
