Bard epic

I have been reading a little bit regarding the bard epic.

It seems that noone does Trak anymore and there are basically no more undead dragongut strings? Is this true?

Also when was "An Undead Bard" implemented? Will we see him during Velious?

Trak dies within minutes of popping.

Undead Bard is shortly after Velious

Generally speaking, if your epic requires a no drop from a raid boss, it's hard to get, otherwise very easy. Bard... scales & trakanon = bad times

I would not hold your breath of ever getting it on P1999. :o

No one is doing Trak anymore? That dude dies within seconds of spawning

Scales drop off of 2+ mobs each (Naggy, Tal, Ragefire for red; Vox, Gore for white), they aren't anywhere near as rare. The bottleneck is Trak, who is engaged within 5 minutes of spawn for C and FFA, and within 30 for R. Trak is highly contested because he is the gate-keeper for VP (the last piece of the key is one of his teeth).

On top of that, Trak generally drops 2 items (excluding teeth and spells) out of a loot table of 14 items (again excluding teeth and spells), a larger loot table than that of the scales dragons. Trak has a ~13% chance to drop guts (assuming 2 items). Since his loot table is larger than the scales dragons and he's much more hotly contested, Trak is the massive c-block for bard epics. Not to downplay the scales, but the only reason the bard epic is easier than Mage/Necro/SK is because Trak is a 3-day spawn compared to CT/Inny's 7-days.

People in top guilds need bard epic items on their alts. Welcome to the P99 raid scene...glad I've taken a step back.

Guts aren't included in his "2 drop table." He always drops two items, then a 15ish% chance to drop guts on top of that.
