New duo starting.
 

My brother (for real) and I are going to start playing Red. Pretty much set on Monk/Shm duo, he wants to be an Iksar and I was wondering how the race plays into it. Would Hum/Ogr be a better option than Iks/Iks while being hated and no JBB.

JBB is not that big of a deal, especially while duoing. Just go iksar iksar. Regen is very nice and being hated in different cities could make it a pain later. Also a duo leveling up in Kunark is very nice - you'll get to see a ton of content most people never do.

Whoever is playing the monk needs to give the shaman some coin for spells a lot though, I'd think. Group up with other newb iksars as much as you can for faster xp.
